Brooklyn based jeweler Emily Amey has always followed an independent course. In her early twenties, she moved to NYC to study metalsmithing at FIT. An obsessive traveler and collector, Emily draws inspiration from ordinary natural objects such as pyrite fossil and bone, squid tentacle and urchin. Emily works intuitively, sculpting organic forms out of soft wax. She works primarily in silver and gold, and uses recycled fine metals and responsibly sourced gemstones whenever possible. The entire jewelry-making process, from design to full-scale production, is completed domestically with the majority of it done in-house at Emily's Brooklyn studio.
